Hey everybody, I just picked up a Norinco/Hawk 982 shotgun (I really wanted the 590A1 but hey this one way cheaper), and would like to bring the magazine tube flush with the end of the barrel (as well as adding one round of capacity).

I'm having trouble finding one, my internet searches have turned up nothing. Will a Rem. 870 extension work? I would prefer one with a sling loop/slot on the bottom.

Thanks.

That makes 2 of us, I’m looking for the same but with no luck. Does anyone have advice on how to make one?

There is a guy on here named MAX100 that makes +2 ext. Not exactly what your looking for, but get in touch with him.

I found a 1-shot extension by Wilson Combat for $45, even with the bottom sling loop (exactly what I want), but it is for the Rem. 870. Will it fit on the 982? The 982 is a clone of the 870 afterall...

They are at the base of the threads on the mag tube. They hold the spring retainer in place and will stop the follower and shells from going past. The Remington 870 Express shotguns have them also. They will have to be removed for a tube extension to work.

Also don't forget to file down and smooth out the interior of the tube when your done drilling. Left over pieces from the drill bit edge can easily hang up your magazine spring if you don't. I recommend a very fine stone or half round file by hand, as a power tool like a Dremel (R) can take off "a little too much" if your not careful.

BTW- I have a Hawk 982. Have an 870 Side Saddle and a Surefire(R) Forend from my 870 on it. Both worked with no additional fitting required. Slick little gun. Love the Ghost Rings.;)
