Does anyone know where I can get a good deal on ammo online? Are there any online stores available that could sell by the case? I'm mainly looking for range cartridges for a 9mm. I can't seem to find a local store that sells by the case.

Thanks.

There are many online ammo stores. Lots of people swear by ammoman.com but I've always found his prices to be very high. The prices includes shipping, but they're still high.

Natchez
AIM Surplus
Cheaper Than Dirt

There are dozens more, but those are good places to start.

WOW! Thanks alot guys. Now we're talking. I've been paying double at my local gun shop compared to what these online stores are charging. It makes a big difference.

Thanks again.

Actually, I will ask one more question. Is there a certain brand of ammo that you like best for the range? I've been using Federal American Eagle in the 9mm Luger and I haven't had any problems with them thus far, but am always looking for other options. Any recommendations?

Thanks again.

For decent range ammo, I tend to use the following

9mm
sellier & bellot (S&B for short) or winchester white box.

45ACP
S&B, magtech, or winchester white box

357 magnum
pretty much use magtech exclusively. the DE is somewhat fickle, and it is the cheapest ammo that is consistant. But used american eagle before I found the magtech worked well.

for .308 I pretty much plink with surplus.

for shotgun, pretty much all over the place. S&B and federal provide the affordable stuff.

i like the winchester value packs from wally world. 100 rounds for $10.96. your local walmart should be able to get you a case. SOMETIMES you can get a better deal if you buy several cases from them. just depends on the store manager/department manager in sporting goods. tell them you will put a 50% deposit to show that you will actually come and get it from them, makes them feel a little better about ordering a couple cases.

Another vote for S&B. Georgia Arms' Canned Heat is also good range ammo. I don't like Wolf, but I have a couple friends who absolutely love their 9mm for inexpensive blasting ammo.

Also, if I may give you a friendly push: give J&G a try. Being in the same state as you will save some shipping charges, their prices are good and they're a great company to deal with.

Another place to consider is:

http://www.wholesalehunter.com

They were running a good deal on Federal XM193.

Another vote for S&B, as it is good range ammo. Sometimes, I think that it tends to be loaded a bit hot.

For 9mm, can't beat Wal Mart's Winchester white box. $10 for 100.

Wolf seems to be hit or miss with people. Some have no problems, others have plenty. I've had no problems with Wolf, but I only run it through my Russian guns.

In My Experiences:

Don't own or operate a 9 Milli, but in .45ACP, Sellier & Bellot (Czech-made ammo) has been good, along with USA brand, also known as Winchester White Box. WWB is around $20 for the 100-round 'value-pack' of .45ACP at your nearby Wal-Mart.

Mag-Tech has also been good in .38Spl, .357Mag and .45ACP.

Federal's value-brand 'American Eagle' is a good performer for me. (Red box, with Bald Eagle's head printed on box)

Do not confuse this with "American Ammo" from Miami, FL (Red & Blue box...bad stuff) If you want details, I'll PM them to you Re: my experience with American Ammo, cases are headstamped A-Amerc.

I've used Ammoman.com, Georgia Precision and Wholesale Hunter for ammo. All were prompt and great to deal with.

However, for .45 ACP I stick with Remington yellow box. I get it at my local Dick's sporting goods on sale for $10/box of 50.

I like Federal as well.

I have had some problems with Winchester in .45 in the past - VERY dirty. In fact I have 3 boxes of it around unfired because I don't want to clean up the mess afterward!

Seeing as how you are in AZ J&G might be a good place to check out. The shipping charges won't be too bad for you.

I use CCI Blazer in all calibers for practice ammo. It's made with an aluminum alloy shell therefore it's can't be reloaded. If you don't reload, it's great. No failures in 5 years of using and it's clean and inexpensive.
For carry purposes, I use Federal and Speer Gold dots. On the cartridge case case it says " CCI Blazer is the perfect target practice and traing cartridge for shooter who don't reload their ammo."

Cheap but good

I've been a fan of CCI Blazer with the aluminum cases: they now offer the same ammo with BRASS CASES! I have found Blazer to be the cleanest burning practice ammo.....the brass cases only add about fifty cents/box of 50. Natchez and Ammoman carry it.

can you post a link the the ammo youa re talking about? The only thing I can think of is CCI lawman ammo. A box of blazer .45acp is under $8 at natchez, the lawman is over $13.

Ammoman is the only place I have seen so far that is selling the new brass cased Blazer ammunition.

$109 for 10 boxes with free shipping.
$199 for 20 boxes with free shipping.

Hopefully Wally World will carry them soon.

Ive personally ordered from the following and have had great results:

Kiesler's Online: http://www.kieslersonline.com
http://www.midwayusa.com/
http://www.natchezss.com/
http://www.ammoman.com/
http://www.cheaperthandirt.com

I noticed someone said that cheaper than dirt was slow, I have recieved packages the next day after I ordered them, and the slowest ahs been 4 days later. Keisler doesnt ahve the greatest selection, but I do order a lot of 12 guage ammo from them. Natchezss seems to have everything and great prices to boot!
