So I was organizing some ammo, and I opened the mostly empty box of GDHPs that reside in my bedside G17. I noticed there was only one round left in the box of twenty. Hmmm.....

Sure enough I've had the mag loaded with 18 rounds for the last three months or so (+1 in the chamber makes 19). My initial thought is that this is a Glock with a glock factory magazine, so its probably fine. JIC, I swapped it out with a fresh mag, this time loaded to correct capacity. I'll verify operation of the mag in question next time i'm at the range.

Anyone experienced this one before? Should be no issue right? What say you?

Thanks in advance for your replies.:)

Glock springs are extra-heavy to promote reliable feeding. I doubt an extra round hurt it, but man those must be some gorilla thumbs on you if you got it in!

Where there's a will there's a way.
I forget where I was reading it, but someone out there managed to stuff 13 rounds into an Lee Enfield magazine.

Must be in their genes or something. :p

My m1 carbine 30 round mag (stamped m2, issued who knows when) holds 31 without protest. I could probably cram 32 in there if I tried. Doesn't like loading the last round, darn spring's about shot, but it loads everything else so beautifully I'm tempted to just overload it, call it a 30-round mag, and try and remember to not pull the trigger on the last one!

I'm sure it was totally psychological. Since I always expect that last round to be a bear, I just kept forcing them in until I couldn't push the stack down any further! Who knew that it would happen at 18?!?!
