So I am strongly looking into Open carry more and more each day for a variety of reasons. I'm not interested so much in OC vrs. CC opinions here. What I am interested in is basic information and opinions on open carry only. Such as, if OC is legal in your state, does that mean you can just stick the gun in the holster and leave the house with it on your hip to do your business. Of course not taking into certain buildings and not causing panic or alarm or making threats etc. Just in the holster, on the hip, out the door and away we go?

When in a vehicle and you have your weapon, is it illegal to place it in your glove box? Does that count a CC?

What is proper procedure or etiquette when armed and pulled over by a LEO?

Thanks!

You don't need the permit in Colorado to open carry. Just secure your gun and go. Automobiles don't fall under CC regs. You can keep a loaded gun in your vehicle, out of view, no problem. There are a few caveats in regards to long guns being unloaded for hunters, but that is separate from self defense purposes. This is as accurate as I know it to be, but I might have a thing or two misplaced here.

Like you mentioned, watch where you go. IIRC, Colorado's property posting definitions are poorly arranged. A business can post on their website, that firearms are prohibited on their premises, and it is law binding without an actual sign at the property. If they post a sign, it doesn't have to meet any size or location requirement, and it can be obstructed from view. I even recall hearing that a property owner can simply vocally state that guns are prohibited, and from that point on, it is law, but that seems ridiculous. Colorado's CC laws are poorly written, but the upside is that there are equally few restrictions on our side too. At least this was the way it was years ago when I was getting my permit. I'm sure there could be varying specifics per city/town/county, but probably not much beyond Denver Metro.
