I usually open carry when I am walking fence on my land. I try not to on other people's property. I carry concealed there. No need to upset the sheep.
That depends on where you go.If your moving back to california dont expect to be able to carry a weapon at all.
That depends on where you go.

"Don't worry, he is a cop. You can tell because he has a holster."
To which the other girls said "Don't worry, he is a cop. You can tell because he has a holster."
HAHAHAA...OMG!! What ignorance! That is really incredible.
The other girls were probably very confident in that assessment because she knew the word "holster."
knock, knock
Who's there?
It's the police.
Let me see some ID.

Disheveled hair, unshaven, dirty clothes?
Oh man, give him a break. He probably just walked in for a pack of smokes on his way home from a camping trip or something like that.
Majic, can you point out what section of the Virginia Code specifies this? Everything I've ever heard about Virginia law is that if the gun is clearly visible, it's open carry (and thus legal per Virginia law), and if the gun is not visible, it's considered concealed (and thus legal per Virginia law, if you have a permit). In Va if your firearm is not covered by any clothing it is open carry. If any part of the firearm is covered by clothing it is considered conceal. Also if part of the gun is seen uncovered it will be considered branishing or flashing. This can result in an arrest, a fine, and your CCW is surrendered.
I'm sure that Mr. Bumble used the word in its equestrian context rather than in its profundal meaning.
The holster thing: Somebody published some statistics ( Ayoob, I think) showing that bad guys almost never wear holsters and good guys almost always do.
