I am a resident of West Virginia. I just need a yes or no answer ! Can i openly carry my pistol in plain visable sight on my person ? Yes or No ?

West Virginia is a traditional open carry state but there are some grandfathered local open carry bans not preempted by state law, such as the City of Charleston. There is complete state preemption of all firearms laws, but any local laws passed before preemption remain in effect.

Well...now wait a minute. It depends on what state you plan on being in. All the answers are assuming you are talking about open carrying in West Virginia.

you want yes or no, unlicensed OC?, qualified yes. www.opencarry.org has a WV forum.

From what I know, WV has some funny restrictions (like highway rest areas?)...for licensed CC too, so you need to read carefully.

I'm not planning on walking the streets of any city packing heat on myside. I take my pistol with me whenever i am on my atv checking on the cattle and feeding them. I am on the hard road for only a mile to go the farm where they are. The coyotes are thick there. We lost two calves this spring due to them. And when i and if its in the car or truck its in plain sight slide locked back or revolver open and bullets are in the trunk. The reason i need to know is that our law enforcement here is pretty much all " Dirty Cops " .

Found It

I opened the link www.wvcdl.org and found my answer. Art. 3 Right to Keep and Bear Arms. And it clearly states that there is no license necessary to open carry a holstered handgun. Thanks to All for the help !!
