i have an 1894P that i installed an XS scout rail on but never got an optic for it and like a dummy i yanked off the factory sights thinking that id set it up as a pure optical rig. now i want to put an open sight back on, something that will have a pretty quick sight picture. ive seen the XS ghost ring setup and a peep sight setup with a fire(fiber optic) front sight. the XS setup looks like i can get on target really fast but the peep rear of the fire sight seems like it would be a bit slower. just looking for some feedback, maybee ill just get the factory back on.

Skinner Sights is a great and sturdy option if your 1894 has the four base mount holes on top of the receiver. Since you have the scout rail mounted it sounds like this is the case for you. The Skinner peep is a winner from all the feedback I've read.
