Opinions for repair of scout mount problem

Hello,
My son-in-law bought and installed a inexpensive scout type mount and scope for $78. We tried to zero the scope and the mount would come loose after two or three rounds on a Mosin M38. We are going to try blue loctite, but I believe the mount is too inexpensively made to stand the recoil. The whole setup cost less than a Darrell's mount. Any opinions? Thanks

try the locktite first. Then maybe call the company and see what they say. I am guessing the mount he bought was specifically for a Mosin right?

I was looking at S&K mounts for my m44 and M24/47 but never got around to ordering for either. Heard good things about them though. I believe they were around 70 bucks for just the mount. If the locktite doesn't work, he made need to 'upgrade' the mount.

Yes it says it's for his model Mosin. Its' a nice package with a 4X32 long eye relief with standard crosshair with a dot that can be turned red with illumination adjustment for $76. Personally I'm leaning to a mount upgrade. Plus I didn't know he was going to do it as I am a purist in older firearms and an all matching M-38 was not cheap or easy to find at the time. I've been told and tend to agree that any of these mounts will leave marks on the finish. Ah well. Thanks for your opinion and advice.

question about that setup, did you do the turn down bolt as well? I'd like to drop a red dot on my mosin, but i really dont feel like cutting my bolt and doing the changeover if i can avoid it
