Hey guys,

Has anyone had experience with the 180gr .429 XTP in 44mag? I received a Hornady LNL for Christmas and got a 500 bullet rebate. The 180gr xtp was the only weight option in .429. I’ll have 500 of them pretty soon.

I bought a bunch of 180 gr XTP blems some years back. I load them up for my older son who likes them. Just play at the range loads. My reloads are relatively tame and run about 1300+ FPS from my 5.5" Redhawk. He shoots them in a Win carbine.

I used to shoot them out of my Dan Wesson 10" bbl. Case full of W296 = 1750fps and accurate as all get out.

Over the summer I did a chrono session with them over 30 gr H110 and got 1705 fps out of my 7.5 inch Redhawk. My sights stay adjusted for the 240 gr XTP bullets which are superbly accurate in that gun. The 180's printed about 5/8 inch lower than the 240's even at 7 yds. I shoot the 180's every once in a while just for flash bang and vaporized milk jugs at close range.
