Depending upon what the owner of a gun store decides regarding my recommendations for updating his site, I may be looking at an M1A on the high end, or getting a Henry Big Boy .44 magnum on the low end.

Just wondering what experiences people have had with this carbine. I'd also be interested to know what recent buyers have paid.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

HENRY BIG BOY 44

I purchased the Henry Big Boy 44 with the brass receiver back in November. I love it. It shoots High and Right, but once I went to the range a few times I figured out where to aim, etc.
I paid some $600 for my Big Boy, but you could get the none brass receiver for about $350 to $400.
The weapon shoots the 44 MAG, 44 SPC, and 44 COWBOY rounds.
Lever action does not receive Hollow Points Well.
I have found that a partial brass jacket flap point 44 MAG round works best.
You can not use full metal jacket because the rounds are end to end and could cause a chain reaction.
My wife has the Golden Boy 22LR and loves it.
By the way...Henry now offers the Golden Boy in an HMR 17. That should be outstanding.

Thanks for the reply.

If I went the Henry Big Boy route, it would have to be a brass receiver. That's what makes the rifle so pretty.

If you paid $600 for yours, I would assume that dealer cost is $500+.

The .17HMR would be fun, but I'd like to leave the door open to my buying another .44 magnum revolver.

Thanks, too, for the tip about FMJ's.
