Mine is good, the SW1911Sc billboard on the side of the slide is the only thing I really do not care about... 2 FTE in the first 50 rounds, none since, I apply those to simply break in, close to 2000 rounds so far. would buy another in a heartbeat if they gave us the option of SRM or NoRM, Please folks no fancy rollmarks on carry guns.

I think the SW1911's are the best out-of-the-box 1911's on the market today. I have 2 of them (an SC and a PD) and they have both been flawless in over 1000 rounds. I would pick them over the numerous Colts and Springfield that I own. For a carry gun, their light weight, reliability, accuracy, and strength make them my first choice. :) I guess I am in the minority....I like the billboard....you can decide for yourself:

I have a 1911SC, and I've found it quite reliable. It's not as accurate as my Kimber was out of the box, though, and the billboard is garish (how do you get laser engraving OFF?), but it feeds everything fine with the stock magazines.

Interestingly, I've had numerous failures trying to feed defense loads from Wilson mags. Curious.

Specifically what kind of loads?? I've put everything from wadcutters to hollowpoints (Federal, Hydrashok, and Gold Dot) and ball thru mine without a single failure. I have used the OEM Act-Mag magazines and Wilson 47D's with no difference. Just kind of curious as to what kind of load won't feed? I've tried everything from limp-wristing to turning the gun sideways to make it malfunction, but so far have been unsuccessful. I'd like to try some of whatever you are shooting to see if it works in my guns.

Speer Gold Dot 230 gr, and the +P version.

I've been staring at the mags in question, and I think the shaped follower in the Wilsons combined with the deeply seated Gold Dots must be presenting the cartridge to the ramp at a different angle. The stock mags and all the Chip McCormack's have flat followers, and feed fine.

I may try to polish up the ramp, but I don't think I should change the ramp angle. Instead and in the meantime, I'll leave the Wilsons for competition ammo.

This sure reminded me to test all mags with all loads on every pistol before relying on it.

Sw 1911

Hi everybody, I have one that I like very much.I had a Springfield GI 45 with the spur hammer which was cutting my hand so I traded for it. I feel that it was a lot of pistol for a good price. $600. I too have had problems with the wilson combat magazines. They somehow didn't sit right in the magwell but my chip mccormak's worked perfectly. As I used them they worked fine so maybe they just wore in. I still would buy the shooting star mags as extras.

The laser printing is ugly but you can just lay it down on that side. At least it is not a glock. That's ugly(I kid I kid)

pete :D

I love mine, I have one of the early production guns been perfect!!! Its one of the few non-colt 1911's that I like! It's accuarate and been very reliable from the box!!!Heard some of the late guns have had some problems, Try and find a early one, also it was rumored that these were made in the performance center!!!!
