These look nice. Especially the bob tailed 1911 in 10mm. Any thoughts and experiences on Dan Wesson 1911s?

I've heard it said that they are like a $2000 for $800. Any truth there?

My first 1911 was a DW PM7-S, a .45. Very good fit/finish and extremely accurate. I bought mine when they were a steal, for $625, and that was only 3yrs ago. Now they sell for around $800-900, and I'm not even sure they make the PM7-S anymore since they "merged" with CZ. Even at $900, it's still a bargain for what you get. Highly recomend:D

I bought a used Patriot and, though I hate to use the worn-out phrase, it's a tack driver. Period.

It's my understanding that your "$2000 for $800" doesn't apply to all models. It certainly does to the Patriot.

I carry one of two DW 1911's in 10mm everyday.

They are reliable, more accurate than I am.

A very good gun for the money.
