Opinions on the .45 acp 200 grain XTP?

What are some opinions concerning the factory loaded Hornady 200 grain XTP in .45 auto (non +p). Is it a reliable expander? Suitable for self defense? I can't seem to find any gel tests with this bullet.

I want to handload with the above bullet and duplicate factory ballistics to test for reliable feeding and for practice, and would like to know how it normally performs.

hornaday rounds perform as well as most any other hollow point round does from a quality manufacturer.
