I was planning on buying a T/C Omega the other day, but I also held an Encore while I was in the shop. I started thinking about selling my Ruger #1 V and buying the muzzleloader Encore and order the bull barrel extra barrel in 22-250. I want to know what people think of the Encore and how accurate the 22-250 would be in this rifle? I get 6/10" with 5 shots at 100 yards with my #1 with handloads and I am trying to discorver if this is expected of the T/C. Also, will the forearm for the muzzleloader work with the 22-250 barrel, or do I need a new forearm also? Any insights that can be given are much appreciated.

My dad has an encore set up as a rifle and pistol. The .223 barrels that he has for it are capable of putting 3 rounds into a space the size of my pinky fingernail.
I've never handled a #1, however, so I don't know that you will improve on your current situation.

My stainless Encore Rifle in .223 will put 3 rounds of Black Hill 52grain Match HP into 3/8" at 100 yards.

I did recrown it--the original crown was very rough. In all fairness though, it might have shot that well without the work. I recrowned it before shooting it.
