I'm looking for a new barrel for my T/C Encore in .22-250.

T/C obviously makes an excellent 28" heavy SS fluted barrel in their Pro Hunter series as well as a very nice heavy SS 26" in the regular Encore line. I like their barrels but they have only one choice for twist and that's 1:12". My other T/C .22-250 sporter-light blued barrel is that same twist and I'd like to go with a 1:10" or faster to take advantage of heavier bullets for very long range shooting.

I see that MidwayUSA has heavy SS Bergara barrels with a 1:10" twist and the price is real low ($199) compared to T/C's heavy 28" SS fluted ($285).

Have any of you owned and shot Bergara barrels and what were your thoughts on quality, accuracy and longevity.

Any help would be appreciated.

I had a bergara 30-06 barrel. In all respects this barrel was on par and in some ways superior to the TC barrels. Below is a pic of the first two groups fired from this barrel

Not to highjack the thread on the bergara barrels...I am sure they are dandies...but maybe you can consider the Eabco barrels also......

Here is my fireforming load group at 200yds from my 30-06AI eabco barrel.

Have not taken any pics of my 30-06AI load groups...but the groups do average less than an inch at 100yds. Consistently........
