anyone shoot these? i bought a box for 10 bucks at walmart, i was tired of waiting months for federals to come in. i didnt get to try them out yet but has anyone else? they are 36 grain plated hp at 1280 fps sounds identical to the federals to me, but i try to stay away from the Winchester ammo. so how does it perform accuracy, feeding etc...

It did well for me (in a Ruger 10/22 and GSG-5), as did the Winchester 555. I bought them for the same reason as you...Federal Bulk 550s were non-existent at WW and I needed .22cal. I too have had trouble with the old Winchester .22lr ammo (everything else has performed well), but these new copper plated variants seem to be much better, and more accurate than the Federal Bulk as well. So far (have shot a pack so far) it has performed very well (one dud IIRC), if I stumble upon more and have the option, I will buy the 555 (would say the same for 333 if it didn't cost more) over the Federal (which I have been loyal to for some time now).

:)

cool, yea i havent used anything besides the federal for the last 5 years now, never wanted anything else. never had a single dud with the federal, in over 5,000 rounds threw a few different .22's accuracy has always been good too, i have a friend that always blamed his gun a savage 64 for jamming and misfiring every other round with the (Remington thunderbolts) i let him shoot some federals his gun worked perfect. but hey maverick how much do the winchester 555 cost? i would like to know the price difference between those and the federals, alls they had was the 333 and that took 2 months to get those in. ive been looking since july for the stuff in 2 different walmarts they been sold out. thanks

how much do the winchester 555 cost?
It runs about $15/box IIRC, about the same as Federal 550 packs, and slightly more than the 333 packs (which I thought were about $12 at WalMart, but perhaps I am mistaken as I haven't bought any since the 555 and Fed. 550 started to trickle in).

i have a friend that always blamed his gun a savage 64 for jamming and misfiring every other round with the (Remington thunderbolts)
Takes a while for some folks to learn, what is cheap can be costly, doesn't it? I had to learn the hard way too. I have found that the Rem. Golden Bullets work pretty well, when better ammo can't be found, but I will not buy Thunderbutts.

:)

cool good to hear they are the same price im a cheap skate haha. yea i paid 10 for the 333 today. the last time i bought the federals i think they were 16 bucks at the time in july.

im a cheap skate
Me too, but that is why they made the .22lr in the first place. I have probably went through 10,000 rounds so far this year (and that is less than normal due to the bulk .22lr shortage)...I can't say that I have done likewise with any other cartridge.

:)

Winchester 333 is good bang for the buck as far as bulk ammo goes. (As are the 555's.)
It works well in all my .22's. I've also had above average results with the Winchester HV Xperts too. These ARE NOT the regular old Xperts. The QC on the High Velocity Xperts is a big step up, IMO. These Winchester loads have very good report consistency from round to round and are plenty accurate for hunting. That big deep hollow point does baaad things to small furry mammals.

Now, my Marlin 60 has to be kept reasonably clean to run these effectively, but, that's easy because these rounds (333 and 555) are not really dirty. Unlike, say, Remington GB's.
They run flawlessly in the Nylon 66, Ruger MKII and the Winchester 150. These are rounds I wouldn't mind stacking high and deep in the ammo locker.:D

Turned one of my Ruger pistols into a jam-o-matic was fine in the others. I doubt I'll buy more unless desperate as I had a pretty high dud rate and two cases blew out right were the rim folds out from the case.

Better than the Remington Golden Bullet bulk pack but not as good as the Federal for me. Fortunately our Walmart was restocked with the Federal so I got my limit 6 on Sat and Sunday so I'm good for a while again.

+1 Remington Thunderbolts are the worst I've had the misfortune to try -- work great until the barrel fouls with lead after a few hundred rounds :(

Problem with bulk 333 winchester .22 ammo at walmart

I just bought a new stainless steel Marlin 60 .22 rifle. Took it to the range with the bulk 333 rd box of winchester .22 rifle rounds from walmart. It absolutely would not shoot them. It did shoot the Winchester super x ok with one hangup and it shot federal ammo great with about two ejection problems out of a hundred. The guy at the range said the gun would do better after break in. However constantly refused to eject or chamber properly the 333 stuff.:what:

At work we got a shipment of 20 or so boxes of these. Most of the bullets were really loose and some even fell out of the casing. This was the case for EVERY box. We haven't ordered any more since. So I hope you checked them first because there was apparently a bad batch out there not too long ago...probably October.

Still no problems in two value packs, however I have mostly switched back to Fed. bulk due to the local WW carrying that instead of Win. 555. I have found them to be similar in performance and honestly do not favor one over the other.

:)
