What are my options if I want a current-production blued semi-auto?

I'm hoping for info on an *all carbon steel* model that is *not* a 1911-patterned gun (I know they still come in blue. I have a Colt Series-70 repro that has a great blue finish.).

I'm looking for bluing like on my old S&W and Colt wheelguns (okay, as close as possible) --NOT something just dark in color.

Thoughts?

One of the reason's I chose to go with the Colt 70 re-issue was because of the finish. It is close to the bluing that we once use to see as standard on older guns.

BUT, I have not seen any current production that matches the finish of the old Smiths and Colts. If that is really what you are after I think you are best served by buying the carbon steel of your choice and sending it off to be hand polished and a master blue applied.

I keep thinking I want to get a CZ 75B, I just keep getting sidetracked. The only ones I see around me have a polymer finish which I do not care for.

I have it on the list to buy, just has not come up yet. Now I will be sure to wait for a blued one.

USFA - Models 1910, 1911, and 1911 .38 Super - Not cheap, but the blueing (and general fit / finish) is hard to beat.

Also...Browning Hi Power
