A little help needed.......

My wife is MAD about the fact that I ordered a PM9 last night.......she won't even speak to me, unless I sell one. Now, the only gun I would even consider parting with is my LCP. It's plastic, a .380 - no special feeling there. Even though I would probably only get $200-$225 (extra mag and 100 rds of unopened Remington JHP) my question is, and yeah I've shot one and stuck one in my front pocket, can it be carried almost as well as a P3AT - LCP? I know there is about a 6 oz. weight difference and the PM9 is a bigger gun, but how about it?

Ride out the storm or sell the LCP and not sleep on the couch for.........weeks?

p.s. - just bought a BHP a month or so ago, a FNP 45 USG about 3 weeks ago and now this. She ain't buying the 2012 re-election anymore........:uhoh:

When you are considering pocket carry you the 380 autos are hard to beat. The PM9 is small but I personally think it prints too much for pocket carry. I would keep the 380 auto if it were me.

I'd say it is too thick if you're planning on pocket carry. It shouldn't be a problem for IWB though.

Maybe your wife wants a nice new pair of pearl earrings?

Being a micro 380 owner and a PM-9 owner as well I agree the PM-9 is a tad large for pocket carry.
That being said it is not too big for that but I would purchase a pocket holster that has an anti print panel to keep it from doing so.
Even my micro Diamondback .380 that I carry far more often than my PM-9 prints in it's pocket holster wearing certain pants such as semi tight jeans.

PM9

I carry my my PM9 all summer in a pocket holster in the front pocket of cargo shorts. Those pockets are roomier than regular shorts and they don't print at all. In a good IWB holster it will disappear under a T-shirt.

I have a PM9 and a LCP. I pocket carried the PM9 for a few months, and last week switched back to the LCP. It's amazing how much less noticeable that LCP is my pocket. I just don't think there is a better gun for pocket carry. I'll keep the PM9, but probably get a belt holster and wear a t shirt for cover.

My advice:

Invest a couch that folds out into a bed. Buy whatever guns you want.

Or just buy her something and she'll probably leave you alone

You need to move something. Ruger is good candidate as there seems little pride to be had by owning anything of that brand. When it comes to "pocket carry" I would go with S&W "J" light framed 2" revolver every time. When it comes to light carry or accurate big bore handgun for hunting a revolver is impossible to beat.

Take your wife shooting. It might help her understand.

Also... might have been a better idea to talk to her about it before ordering?

And we have a winner.

Arguments over money are the #1 cause of ended relationships/marriages, followed by adultry.

Apologize, cancel the order (or sell the LCP), and be sure to talk with her next time. No new gun is worth having your wife mad at you (if you love her)

Do not let a "GUN" ruin your relationship with your wife,,,

She is more important than a new gun. Keep the Ruger LCP and cancel out on the PM9. Perhaps later you may want to consider it.

I agree with that sentiment. I joke all the time about being in the dog house because I got this or that but in the end no gun is worth losing the most important relationship in your life.

99% of the time my wife thinks I am an idiot for buying yet another gun. The most common response is don't you already have one of those. In the end she knows I do not buy what I cannopt pay for. I have not put us in dire straits to do it and that if we ever "need" the money the safe will be emptied.

In the OPs case it does not sound like this is a make or brake purchase in terms of their relationship. It sounded like he just got one too many.

I started the thread mainly to discuss the size difference (pocket carry) between the LCP and PM9, even though I know the PM9 is about as big as it gets for a "pocket" gun.

Me and wifey are fine.......I don't give her crap about shoes, clothes, purses, etc. But my toys do cost more..........

This will be the last new purchase for a while, unless the FNP comes back and continues to have failures.

I sold my PM9 because I considered it to big for pocket carry. (had it listed here)
I turned around and bought a S.A. EMP 9mm (go figure)

Now I am on the hunt again for a pocket pistol and am looking at the LCP hard.

I started a thread on here about looking for a good .380 pocket pistol. It has about 4 pages and is a few threads down.

Good luck on the wife! :D

Ouch, thats the suck. Is there an option to treat her to a nice dinner, or perhapms some jewelry to make her feel better about your purchase?

Well, arguably you can use the 2012 re-election argument again now that Bin Laden is dead.... ARGUABLY.

I too am an owner of both, and unless I were to start wearing cargo pants/shorts, I just can't pocket carry a PM9 otherwise. LM
