I had posted here before asking what people thought of Crimson Trace Grips, and almost everyone said they were great. Last weekend a gun shop had some working grips on display (on plastic guns) that you could pick up, aim, etc. I tried them out and really liked them, and my only concern with them working before I actually tried them in person was whether or not my index finger would block the laser. Well it didn't, when you put your finger along the frame it rests right under the laser w/o blocking it, I had to purposely (and unnaturally for me) bring my finger up really high to make it block the laser. They were the LG205 (boot style) grips and they have a good feel, and are molded well to fit your hand.

The shop said they wanted $280 for them though :what:

So when I got home I checked gunbroker.com and Discount Gunner had them on sale for only $170 + shipping. So I bought them for $180 shipped, and they should be here early next week.

Just thought I'd share my experience with these laser grips because I think they will be a great compliment to any J-frame seeing how they are tough to shoot compared to other guns, and you only get 5-shots. Oh yeah, if you buy Crimson Trace grips now until June 30th 2005 you get FREE batteries for as long as you own them! :)

What is discount gunner? and where can I get a set for $180 shipped? I will order and pay right this second!

I just ordered a set from discout gunner as well. Free batteries for life huh. How did you hear about that. I am stoked for them to get here!!!

Yeah, I just found discount gunner by looking at stuff on Gunbroker.com because they sell a lot of merchandise there.

When I was at the local gun shop checking out the lasergrips they had a little display with small flyers from Crimson Trace that advertised the batteries (the shop guy also mentioned it). I suppose you could try finding a little flyer or better yet call Crimson Trace Direct and see what they say. Good Luck!

I bought alot of accessories from Discount Gunner. Customer service is excellent as is turnaround time. I have a set of Crimson Trace boot grips on my 642. Thoroughly unpleasant even with standard pressure loads. Stopped shooting after 25 round of standard 158 lead S&B and about 10 Winchester 158gr LSWCHP +P. The laser was nearly dead on from get go. I've heard the larger size rubber overmolded CTs are easier on the hand, but I bought my 642 and the CT grips with optimal pocket concealment in mind.

Laser grips

I just gought a set of Crimson trace grips for my S&W 637.
They would not adjust to point of aim. Off about 2 feet at 10 yards.
The dealer replaced them and Crimson Trace offered to take care of them at no cost.
Seems Crimson Trace is a stand up company. Any problems and they make it right.
Look at their forum board. Some very interesting things happen and they still stand behind them.
The new set I have are great. The bullet hits where the red dot was when I pull the trigger. I am very pleased with mine.
Hope you are too.
The free batteries for life is something Crimson Trace is doing till June 30 2005.

CT is offering free batteries for life (maximum of 2 sets per year per set of grips). If your dealer doesn't have the coupon you can still call CT and get in on the deal IF your grips were purchased in the alloted time frame.

I bought my Crimson grips (for my 642) in mid February and sent in the registration/free batteries coupon a few days later. Last week I received 2 new batteries!
