The ammo I ordered had a big fat "small arms ordnance" sticker on the box that Fedex delivered. I was not thrilled that some delivery driver now knows that there is a gun in my house (gun thefts are a problem). Do all companies that sell ammo put these stickers on boxes that are shipped?

Yup.

U.S. Department of Transportation regulations
* the following guidelines must be followed when shipping live ammunition:

+ Package and ship ammunition separately from firearm(s).

+ The outside of the container must be labeled ORM-D, Cartridges, Small Arms.

+ The Declaration of Dangerous Goods must include the number of package(s) and the gross weight of the completed package(s) in grams.

Yep, they all have ORM-D or so. And it doesn't take a genius to figure out a C&R holder when the delivery guy keeps dropping off 60 pound boxes and long skinny boxes

The last time I ordered ammo online, it was a wood case of the Greek .30-06 from the CMP. There was a ORM-D sticker but the only reference to ammo was stenciled on the box written in Greek.

Other orders I have received for pistol ammo came in the original factory shipping cartons. The ORM-D sticker was there but it had Winchester all over the cardboard box along with the specific caliber and bullet weight.

Don't think I have ever seen a label that specifically stated "Cartridges - Small Arms".
