I've never ordered ammo online before today. Just placed an order with ammoman and ammo to go to be shipped to my house.

Wondering if a signature is required at delivery for ammo? Most likely, there won't be anyone there when UPS/FEDEX shows up.

What about for powder/primers?

I've never needed to sign for ammo, but then again, my driver delivers 10-15 packages a week.

I've never had to sign for ammo. I've never ordered powder or primers for shipment due to the high HAZMAT charges. I purchase those locally.

I believe your signature would only be required if the shipper marked it as such. You may want to ask the shipper NOT to require a signature on future orders.

FEDEX may have a signature release form online which you can sign and tape to your door. I just looked at UPS.com for you, but couldn't find theirs. FEDEX used to have a signature release on the back of their door tags which were used when the recipient wasn't home.

I've ordered and received quite a bit of ammo online. It has all been delivered by Fed-ex and UPS and I have never signed for it. I'm in Alabama.

Ordered many times from ammoman - it is at the discretion of the driver for UPS the way he ships it, I believe.

I've ordered from many different online retailers and never had a signature required. Matter of fact, they'll usually just leave the package at the front doorstep without as much as knocking. Driver is probably too mad from having to carry a large lead brick through 50 yards of sidewalk to get to my house :cuss:

I ordered ammo from Centerfire and was pleased to discover the UPS guy left it at the door. Maybe it is because I live in AZ?

I haven't had to sign for it, but the driver wouldn't leave the box on the porch. I had to actually be there to receive it, but no signature required. This was the same story with two shippers.

Congratulations! You've taken a first step into a wider world. Now, it'll be just like Christmas waiting for that package to arrive.

Our UPS driver used to leave ammo at our door. The new guy is a stickler for the signature. Last time I had to go pick it up after the third delivery attempt. I guess working people and UPS delivery schedules don't mix.

My UPS driver has my phone number and knows what is in the boxes. He calls and when I'm not home we have a designated place where he leaves it.

I also give him a bottle of Hennesy for the holidays in appreciation.

I am not home during the day either. Anything that there is even a possibility it might have to be signed for gets sent to my workplace. This is dependent on what place you work for - some may not like (or even allow) large boxes of ammo being delivered. ("Gonna start a war with that?") I've also had packages left at the apartment manager's office, but I don't want just anyone seeing marked ammo boxes with my name on them.

Whether you have to sign or not depends mostly on the shipper.

If the shipper requires a signature, then it somewhat depends on the driver delivering it.

Here, FedEx always requires a signature (in person and not left for them) for CMP ammo.

Since I go out of my way to request UPS whenever I can, and since I have a pretty good relationship with the UPS driver, I don't usually have to worry about signing for stuff left by UPS...

I've ordered several cases of 7.62x39 ammo over the last year or so, from sportsmansguide, never had to sign for it. The package gets left on my porch, I live out in the country, so theft is unlikely.
