What a great day for blastin'! It was nice meetin' y'all. You'll have to come over to my side of town for a shoot. I'll post directions and GPS data when we pick a date. See if we can't get some ARFer's to show up. When I first got up there I saw those two guys with the old truck and I thought gee I hope that ain't Carlos! I loved your bolt gun, that was a sweet shooter. You'll like Brown's Camp Quarry. Little bit easier to hold a firing line. Don't have to worry as much about who's behind you. Can drive right up to the line. I'll bring my bench and I still have some Tannerite. I think that last one was a dud because it had been hit with some small caliber rounds and put holes in the bottle. I saw in your bio that you're into music. Are you a player? I've been spankin' the plank (guitar) for about 45 years now. Lookin forward to another shoot when we can start a little earlier and go for some little longer shots.
LMAO. When I got up there, I thought they were with you. Ole Cletis there was a piece of work. His friend was at least trying to be nice. I should have let the moron shoot my bolt gun - FR8 - that he called a piece of ????.
Whew, those boys were out there. Shooter003 and I turned and looked at each a few times over their remarks.
I'm a hobbyist only. If you were making $$ for playing, we're in a different league entirely. We'll have to get together though. My playing consists of attempting to keep up with my favorite artists. Haven't jammed with anybody too many hours, usually due to different tastes and skill levels.
I'm interested in seeing more local bands this summer. Missing out on a very important part of life.
Ya I went up to Brown's Camp yesterday for awhile. Took a stack of .22's and my AR. Fun in the sun. I shoot there alot and have the different ranges down pretty good. So I like messin' with the folks that stop in to shoot. I can take my MKII off sand bags and hit the same stuff people are using rifles on. Fun fun fun. I still haven't taken my bench out since I finished working on it yet.
Here are some targets I've made in MS Word format.
Got to work Thursday. Looks like rain on Sunday. BUT a guy I've played with before has a jam on Sundays at M&M's in Gresham. It'd be fun to go down some Sunday and see what he's up to. Need to get my fingers back in shape first! Toughen 'em up a bit.
Yes it would. Need to pick up the guitar as much as I pick up my guns. Callouses are wearing out.
Bang, we're going to have to shoot again, minus Dumb and Dumber.
Shooter003 is having computer problems, so he's not responding here, but it was definitely a pleasure to shoot with that gentleman and yourself.
Let's let this thread flow on off into the sunset and die a natural death.
We'll start a new thread next shoot. Bang, feel free to PM me any M-F evening if you're interested in shooting indoors. Bring change for targets. They're dirt cheap and plentiful.
I stopped by the Dump weekend before last because I had to go to Molalla for business and I hoped there would be some folks there shooting. I was able to squeeze my Suburban around the barricade and drive right up to the line. Even took a digital pic or two. Hopefully I can hook up with ya'll one of these days. See ya...
Here is the GPS location for "The Dump".
Location (45° 11’ 48.04” N, 122° 10’ 46.38” W)
I followed the directions from the post above and managed to find it and take a pic using google earth. Let me know if this is not the right location.
