I thought I'd post a 'head's up' for my favorite event here in the Alamo City, the San Antonio Gun Show that will be held at the San Antonio Expo Center (behind Freeman Coliseum and next to the AT&T Center) on 10-11 Dec 2011.

This is the one run by Premier Gun Shows, LLC (Tim and Michelle) out of Ft Worth, and if you are some distance away from San Antonio and wonder which show you should make the trek for, this is it!

A bunch of us locals are having our usual pre-show breakfast at a nearby TexMex restaurant meeting at 8:00am. If anyone is interested in joining us, let me know!

Heck, we're just outside of Helotes so we're practically neighbors!

We head up your way all the time, Boerne's a really nice town and if it were so dang far to where I work, I'd live there!

Just heard it advertised on WOAI this afternoon. Sounds like a good show....800 tables...Not bad!!! Sounds much better than the lame Texas Gun Show at Alzafar last month. I'll be there.
 
It's even better than the monthly SAXET show at the SA Event Center (410 & Marbach). The folks at Premier Guns Shows do an excellent job with this one, and they are looking to expand it even further into an adjoining building in 2012!

Definitely worth the trip, and we'll be there for sure!

So, the funny thing is that I've lived in San Antonio area for 45 years and don't think I've ever even heard of the Expo Center!!! I get that it's behind the Freeman Coliseum, but, where the heck have I been??? I guess there aren't too many Expos going on there...at least not that I attended (or heard about)! :cool:
 
Serbin Texas will be there with money to spend on SA's. Spent $3800 at the SATEX show. How can I get on their mailing list?

I signed up for their emails yesterday...very simple process. The link M2 provides also shows the 2012 calendar. Nice to see they will be frequenters to the San Antonio area next year!!
 
So I have to ask...

Does this show really cater to all things gun related or is it a hyped up version of the SAXET show with every other table having Glocks, AKs, and ARs? I am looking for accessories mostly, but a new gun never hurts, lol.

Also, are there deals to be made/had? The last one I went to was on Marbach and almost everyone seemed to be very close to MSRP on their weapons with little variety in terms of accessories. Just my opinion. I am not looking to steal anything and understand they have to make profit as well, but when they are over $100 off a Bud's Price or Gallery of Guns price, I just can't justify the purchase. I don't expect the prices to be that close, but $25 off to help offset the difference I feel could make us both happy.

My only comparison to these TX shows are the ones I attend when back home in Arizona, and those are outrageously fun times, although the wife and wallet would say otherwise.

I am in real need of a pancake holster for my CCW and being left handed they are hard to find locally. I'd enjoy being able to get hands on with them prior to buying. Hoping they have some of them there.

I am full of it. Overpriced garbage. Big building full of junk and people who bought guns from Buds and marked them up. Total waste of time. Bummer.
I now officially swear off wasting gas to go to any gun show....they have disintegrated to freak show status.
 
Well, over 10,000 people are going to this show daily, so there's got to be some reason it's so popular...

We went this morning, and despite the weather (cold, windy and soon rainy) there was a good sized crowd. We were there a little over two hours and while we didn't make any major purchases, we saw a lot of interesting things and got to talk with a bunch of people.

Everyone has different expectations of gun shows, but I still contend that this is the best one in this area. The SAXET shows are OK, but beyond that there aren't really any shows that come close to this one.

I know how you feel, we moved away from San Antonio for three years (granted, it was to Belgium!) and I was very happy to get back again! When it came time to retire, we decided to make our adopted home our permanent one!

Like a lot of people, I am fed up with SAXET gun shows. I am handicapped and still have to park out in an open field. Bull Corn.

I go to the Joe and Harry for this gunshow and forget the rest.
