I'm visiting family in Orlando, FL, and I'm hoping someone can point me to a good public indoor shooting range around here. One that you can rent guns from too, as I had to leave my firearms behind
Welcome to Orlando!Orlando
HI Guys, just seen this thread.
Basically, i am in a similar position myself, me and two friends are flying out to orlando next week on holiday. One of my friends is a Police officer over here in the UK and will be in posession of his id/badge etc. I Used to be in the armed forces over here in the UK, and i used to do a lot of 5.56 target and range shooting part of national competitions etc, which i miss a great deal.
Im going through my shotgun license and firearm license here in the UK right now (takes time and lots of paperwork for us in the UK) so i can join a local club, but while we're in the US just had a thought that we may beable to have a go on a local range.
In orlando, can we just walk in off the street and rent weapons and all the gear and just have a go on a range?
We're staying at a marriot resort and are attending the daytona bike show for a couple of days, but will be in orlando doing the usual sightseeing/resort visits, and want to have a go on a range one of the days.. what do you guys reckon? "Shoot Straight in Casselberry" is still looking like one of the best? do we need to call ahead and make a booking, or just show up..
Thanks in advance..
Hmm.. thanks very much for your valued response and opinions. All duely noted.
Basically, we have a hire car and sat nav, so we're wlling to travel to the right place, here in the UK hand guns aren't allowed and access to them is very limited, and impossible unless your armed forces/police. So we want to have a little go with as many different types of weapons as possible.
have seen this:

but it looks a little touristy.. when you say expensive hourly rate wise, how much do you mean?
We would be interested in firing automatics/semi automatic hand guns and rifles, is this available at shoot straight?
Thanks again, excellent informative forum!
