Out of state SBR

I live in WA state where SBRs are illegal. My family has land in Idaho, where SBRs are legal. I would like to get an SBR to keep in Idaho for when I am out there. Is it possible, since I don't live at the address, to get a licensed SBR that resides in a state that I do not?

What about a machinegun?

Are you referring to one of these, or something else. Personally, I'm very tired of guessing what ACRONYMS are intended. Problem spelling words? Try, for instance, Short Barrel Rifle, or whatever. I like Sit Back and Relax!

What happened to good manners and discussion? The lack of using "words" is an annoyance to some of us that appreciate the language, not blind letters.
It is customary to use a full name of something the first time through, shortened further in an article - just a courtesy to those that may not be in the latest "buzz words" or acronyms. Twit? that make you feel macho?

You need to reside in Idaho, in order to apply for a tax stamp for a NFA (National Firearms Act) firearm in that state.

However, your family can form a corporation or trust in Idaho. The corporation/trust will own the NFA firearm(s) and you can be listed as an officer of the corporation/trust, which will allow you to use the NFA firearm(s) while in Idaho.

SBR is an abbreviation in common use on gun boards. You are one of the few that don't know what it means. I would suggest you find a different thread if you have nothing productive to say.

SBR - Short Barreled Rifle, or a firearm that is fired from the shoulder and has a barrel shorter than 16" (not including shotguns)

On a gun forum, SBR, AOW and C&R are all abreviations that are accepted as common place and do not require definition. The term SBR is as accepted as ATF, which is a government agency. Next time use google or a quick search of other threads if you are so confused. Your hostile attitude doesn't seem to come with a productive comment, so please don't bother being involved in this thread if you have no interest in SBRs or the laws regulating them.

I don't have any input on the subject of the thread.... so maybe I should keep my mouth shut... but it was odd that I was reading the post thinking "I have no idea what an SBR is".... and then this..... I had no idea what an SBR was, nor was it obvious in reading his post (I was trying to associate it with an assault weapon of some sort, given the context of the post).... Everyone knows what ATF is, because they use the term instead of the name all over the media and everywhere else... to be perfectly honest, I have no idea what AOW and C&R mean either...

I would sure appreciate it if people would use the acronym as a full phrase first, so at least I could put it together from no more than the post... googlizing a posts acronyms isn't something you should have to do.... it isn't realistic.... unless the guy only wants input from people who put together acronyms well, it's bad form...

That being said, I wasn't going to make a stink about it... the only reason I read on was to see what an SBR was....

I'll put it this way....... If you want an answer to your question, it behooves you to ask in such a way that you get an answer rather than thread closure due to irrelevant arguments.

This argument and resulting thread ckosure could have been prevented by three simple words......... Short Barreled Rifle. A simple question and answer without a bunch of attitude could have done the same. In the past, members have answered questions without this kind of chest thumping. Why are members unable to do so now?
