I really love the mag release on my new Beretta U22 Neos. It's on the frame, on the right side, right where I'd normally rest my trigger finger when not firing. The button is stiff enough that you actually have to press it, and to date I have not released it accidentally. While the gun is only a .22 LR, I think it's a great design change, and makes quick mag changes a breeze. I don't consider myself to have small hands, but on some guns I have to shift my trigger hand to get my thumb over to the mag release. I'm sure I'm not the only person that has to do this with certain guns.

I know USPs have a lever, as does the Walther P99, but I was wondering what other modern guns have a mag release other than the the normal one on the left side of the grip?

The CZ-75B Stainless and SP-01 have reversible magazine releases.

Oddly enough the CZ-85 and 85 COMBAT have an ambidextrous safety and slide release, but left side magazine release only. I wish CZ would combine the two and make one TOTALLY ambidextrous gun.

Some Ruger P series autos are ambi release also. So is the HK P2000 IIRC. On the S&W 422/622 the release is on the front of the gripframe and is pushed in!

The Helwan/Beretta 951 also has the old style push in button mag release also.

Possibly my favorite mag release is on the Springfield Armory XD. It is a true ambi push button safety; nothing to reverse, it just is. On both sides.

I have yet to mess with anything that I prefer to that; the usual left side button is ok, but I'd prefer that button on both sides.

The problem isn't if the button is on the left or right side, it's just that it's not in a place I can get to without modifying the grip of the strong hand.

Magazine releases are not quick n easy TM

You are not supposed to be able to push the magazine release with your hand in firing position. Because, if they are you may release the mag under the wrong circumstances. :scrutiny:
