the thing that annoys me the most about cases like this is that an inanimate object is blamed for a tragedy, while in any other situation, it would be the fault of actual people. Think about what that article would say if it were about a kid who ran over his friend with his parent's car because they left the keys in a place where he could get them. Would they be suing ford because the car doesn't have an indicator to show that it's on, or in gear, or maybe because the pedals weren't labeled clearly enough and the kid didn't realize he was stepping on the gas and not the brake? I don't think so, and it doesn't make any more sense to blame a gun manufacturer for human error.
BTW, where are the criminal negligence charges against the father of the kid who pulled the trigger? Obviously, the kid hadn't been taught anything about firearms and shouldn't have had access to one
