Even though its not exactly an answer to your inquiry I have one of the bakail 22-410 combination guns that is proving to be an outstanding piece of kit.

I want one of those MP94s in 12 Gauge/.308.

The only thing that concerns me is in one review it said the test gun had a trigger pull of 11 POUNDS.

Just my .02,
LeonCarr

The only other current mfr I have found outside of the higher end are Chiappa. Will be checking them out at the Shot Show. They also have a new 12g Drilling listed.

I have one and I think it's a very useful, versatile gun. However, it's not a long range tackdriver due in part to the heavy trigger pull and I'm guessing also partially due to the ultra-thin rifle barrel. Ranges of 100 yards or less are ideal for the gun.

I went with it because most ranges I encounter when hunting are close and I see more small game when hunting deer than anything else. It's nice to be able to leave the shotgun barrel stoked with birdshot for those times when the deer just aren't anywhere to be found, but partridge keep wandering by unaware of my presence.

Drilling

Oh wow..Those are really nice but too expensive..

I'd love to have a sxs 12g with a rifle or handgun cartridge on the bottom, but from the looks of it none are being made right now..

Question...Used Savage 24 vs new Baikal mp94???

I'd love to have a sxs 12g with a rifle or handgun cartridge on the bottom, but from the looks of it none are being made right now..

Made all the time in Europe (with rifle cartridges), but the good quality ones are expensive - see Heym, Hofer, Ollendorf and others - they would make you anything you want - all it takes is money! :D

An O/U is NOT a drilling! A drilling has 3 bbls... A rifle/shotgun is more commonly called a combo gun...

Krieghoff, Chapuis, Heym and numerous others make O/U rifle shorguns, but they are expensive and they are expensive because they are very "refined"...

The Savages handle like a club, and rarely are both bbls regulated to hit in the same place, to the sights. VERY crude!

Of all the cheaper O/U rifle/shotguns the lowest quality i'd go is a used Valmet 412, Tikka 512. These are pretty good quality guns and at least for the eariler 412's, VERY accurate,

Best part about the Valmet/Tikka's is, there's numerous bbl sets for them, including shotgun, double rifle, and combo bbls in many different configurations and they all can easily to "fit" to your receiver.

So, you can have O/U bbls in 12ga, DR, combo and many others...like this old model,

Valmet has an excellent quick detach scope mount for them, single or double triggers ect...

I love my pre mod 3000 Sauer Drilling. Its a 12 ga SXS with a 30.06 on the bottom. Claw mount scope returns to zero every time. I also have 20 ga and 410 ga tubes for it. Extremely versatile rig. Its my "go to" gun.

How about a nice vierling?

Talk about a do-it-all gun.........

So I checked out the Hofer website...

Wow..some beautiful works of art..

I'm assuming the age old adage "if you have to ask how much, you can't afford it" applies?

Not a current production weapon but Springfield made a .22LR/.410 overunder called the M6.

Yes

One of their more interesting pieces was a double rifle chambered in .17HMR and remarkably small and light. I think it sold for around $250k.

The "Hummingbird" is available in either .17HMR or .22 Hornet. Weighs exactly 1Kg (2.2#), never saw a price listed as each engraving is a little different

Note

Beautiful guns.....I can only imagine owning one.
Note about names....every different combination has its own name, as you might expect.
The O/U SG/Rifle is called a Bochbuchsflinte. A Drilling has three barrels (SXS over Rifle); a Vierling is four barrels (SXS over two rifle barrels which themselves are O/U). There are numerous other combos....double rifles with SG barrels, three barrel O/Us (SG/rifle/rifle), etc.
