I was under the impression that the P2000 was only available in the LEM version, which I have tried out and though was interesting for a DAO, but now I have found out that it is available in a SA/DA version.

Now, if you get it in SA/DA, does the trigger function like a regular USP? If I cock it and then decock it, will the DA pull be like the LEM or a standard USP?

Thanks!

I have not handled one yet. I'd expect it to be about the same as a USP. HK's web site puts it at 11 to 12 lbs. DA and 4 to 5 lbs. SA. (Newtons converted to pounds.) The decocked trigger pull on the 2000 LEM (I have one) is about 15 lbs. One difference between the USP and the P2000 DA/SA is that the P2000 DA/SA cannot be carried cocked and locked.

Cawdor, art thou yet a Thane?

AFAIK the detent plate and control lever for the SA/DA mode will make your P2000 just like a USP V1/2.

I have a P2000 V3 DA/SA. The trigger pull on it is not as nice as my USP Compact 9mm. The trigger reset is longer. It cannot be carried cocked and locked. Still, it's a pretty nice trigger. Smooth in DA and SA mode.

As to your questions, yes, it can be cocked and then decocked just like the USP Compact, except you use a button next to the hammer to decock rather than the safety lever. The P2000 V3 does NOT have a manually engaged safety like the USP Compact. When you decock, it goes back to the standard 11-12 lb DA trigger pull, not an LEM type trigger. Standard DA/SA.

Not as good as my Walther P99s though :D
