P229 VM2 Rail vs Non-Rail: Will it fit?

I'm looking at a used Milt Sparks VM2 for a P229. Only problem is the VM2 is for a P229 Rail, and my P229 is sans rail. Can anyone tell me if my non-rail P229 will work in a VM2 meant for a P229R?

Already tried that. 'Offically' the only gun Milt Sparks says a holster will fit is the one it's made for.

I suspect it will as I believe the rail is a little thicker. However it may be a little loose. I am not 100% sure though. Try over on the Sigforum.

The answer is yes it will work. I carrued a P226 navy in a P226R VM2 for quiet a while. There were not retention problems at all.

I do not think you will be able to go the other way.

Ah, coolness. I was hoping that was true. If all else fails I wouldn't mind trading my P229 for a P229R.
