Just picked one up, very accurate! Not as comfortable to carry as my G23, but the holster I have for it may be the problem. Need to get a VMII or W6 for it.:)

Simply, one of the best carry guns...the P239 was my first carry gun (currently on loan to my daughter) But a couple of years ago I was converted to the 1911 in .45 flavor..but the P239 will never go up for sale, it is one sweet carry gun...it will digest +P ammo like candy, it loves Speer Gold Dot 124 +P....I never felt under protected with it, but "feel BETTER" with the.45....:)

I noticed my slide to rail fit is a bit loose. I love TIGHT fitting slides and I understand that Sig makes them a little loose on purpose. Anyone else heard of this? I thought I read one time that it is a common side arm with German LEO's and that they are made that way to keep them functioning even if they get a bit grimy or dirty. My P220C is tight........

Just curious,

JP

Mainsail, would you mind taking a couple of pictures of your P239 with the 10-round mags in place?

I miss my P239, and I am considering replacing it soon.

My slide to frame isn't super tight, but when you drop the barrel in the slide, for reassembly, it's very tight! It locks up tighter than any gun I own, and thats what important. I'd post a pic, but I'm waiting for Sig to send me a rear sight, and I don't have the old one installed:D

With 10 rd Mag

I haven't had any problems with the 10 rd mag but have less than 50 rds through it.
My slide rattles when you shake the pistol, but it eats anything and shoots better than I can.

Hogue grips made my 239 .40 much more pleasant to shoot. The gun just points better and handles better with them.

i have had my 239 for about 11 years, it is my most carried gun.

Looks like everyone here so far has switched out to the Hogue grips.

I did so very begrudgingly. I loved the way the OEM grips looked but I found it difficult to hold onto, and more importantly, I found it very difficult to maintain a consistent grip position. IOW, my hand was always in a slightly different place on the gun depending on how fast I drew the pistol. At the range, I was spending a lot of time trying to get my grip ‘just right’. I put the Houges on and that stopped.

I really like my P239 DAK 9mm a lot (great carry gun and very accurate). I'm big on Hogue rubber grips on the P239 as well (also have them on my other Sigs). The only thing I'm not too crazy on the P239 is the extended 10rd 9mm mags (I don't think the extended grip look looks right on it (IMHO)). Here's a pic on my P239 (with its bigger brother P229R DAK .40):

I love my P239 in 40. I've carried it alot and it looks like I'm the only one who still has the factory plastic grips on it. They are harder to hold on to but I don't like rubber on a carry gun.

No, it doesn't 'look' right at all. That's why I carry the standard mag in the gun, and the 10 rounders as spares. If I get to the point I need to reload, aesthetics are pretty low on the priority list.
