I went to the Gun Show this morning with two good friends, I wasn't really planning on purchasing anything. I stopped by the Anvil Arms booth that is ran by, it looks to me, a family (it looked like Dad, Mom, the kids and maybe some cousins). They make AR-15s and sell other gun things. I have been seriously considering getting a Pak-Lite with a Ruger MkIII 22/45 frame for quite a while and when my friend bought his, I was struck with a serious case of gun envy. I called the CFO to make sure that a purchase would not cause any serious fiscal issues and I got a green light to make the deal.

I wound up with a Ruger MkIII 22/45 bull barrel (I am not sure what the length of the stock barrel is but it is around 4 or 4.5 inches).

I also picked up the 4.5 inch threaded and tapped Pac-Lite barrel assembly and a compensator. I wasn't too sure the compensator would make that big of a difference, but I was wrong. Even the little 22 benefited from the recoil reduction.

One of the things that really struck me as amazing is that the complete Pac-Lite and 22/45 framed pistol weighs less than the stripped out barrel assembly of the original MkIII 22/45.

Here are some pictures (forgive me for the crappy lighting).

The dealer there was also selling some Gem-Tech suppressors. I am very interested in picking one up in the very near future.

Anyone know a manufacturer of a good quality kydex belt holster that will fit a Pac-Lite modified 22/45?

I took it to the range, but I only got to shoot for about 30 minutes. It fired great! I need to adjust the sights, but that can wait until I have an entire day to devote to shooting.

How was the feel of shooting it? Have you tried disassembling the pistol? How was that experience?

It was great shooting it. I have a standard MkII so I know the break down procedure fairly well.

What really struck me was how light it is. I was rushed for time, but I was getting great groups when shooting off hand.

if that is the case Newguy1, congrats and shoot some more! show us your groupings.

Here is a slightly better photo. I really need to make that light box.

I put 350 rounds down range today. I shot 150 rounds of CCI Blazer at 10 yards, not the best groups, but it was really fun. I shot fairly quickly, as fast as I could line up the sights. I used a 6 o'clock hold.

I shoot using a high thumb, and the safety rubbed a blister on my shooting thumb.

Hey, do you know if your PacLite barrel is Black or Matte Black? I really like how it looks with the synthetic 22/45 setup and I'm kinda guessing it's the matte black finish. I'm thinking I'll get the 8.5 inch matte black barrel for my 22/45. Thanks.

I have been trying to buy a Pac Lite upper for my Ruger that is threaded so that I can shoot it suppressed. Problem here in Vegas is that every time I try to do so I run into problems. The "Authorized" dealers tell me that I have to call Tactical Solutions and buy it first and have it shipped to them and Tactical Solutions tells me that I have to have the dealer call them after I purchase it from the dealer. Nobody here in Vegas apparently wants to sell me this item. One dealer at a gun show even refused to sell me the upper he had on his table saying he could'nt because my suppressor was not registered to that particular upper.
Hopefully someone soon will want to actually earn some money and let me buy the darn thing.
