I recently received a ruger standard 22 from a friend for free and I was wondering if a pac lite upper would work on this model. Even if it would fit would it be worth it? The standard model doesn't have a slide stop for the final shot, would a pac lite change that?

Yes, a PacLite Upper will fit on your Standard frame. You will need to use the bolt from your Standard to operate in the new lightweight receiver so you can latch the bolt open with the thumb safety. Your pistol's frame doesn't have some of the cuts necessary to add a bolt catch like the Mark II and later generations have in them. If your Standard has the magazine follower button on the right side of the frame you cannot modify it to take the bolt latching parts. A 1972, or later, A-100 frame can be modified to install the bolt catch if you choose.

I have a TacSol .22 conversion assembly that they make for the 1911. I had checked out their Ruger and Browning conversion assemblies at various gun shows over the years and was very impressed with their designs and quality of manufacture. My 1911 conversion is very well made and I have been very pleased with its overall fit and finish and with its performance. This is how it looks on an old Essex frame I put together years ago.
