I purchased some Pachmayr SK-G Gripper grips for my S&W Model 10-8 (square butt). They fit OK, but I can't quite close the gap toward the trigger guard. Is there some trick I don't know, or am I expecting too tight a fit?

They SHOULD be flush, is the strain screw screwed all the way in to the forestrap? Hahe you tried just squeezing the grip halves together ?

Strain screw is in all the way

I've tried squeezing them, but that doesn't work either. There's a roll pin
pressed into the frame which seems to not fit into the grips properly. Maybe I just have grips that don't quite fit.

Keep trying. I just put a pair of Pachmyr Compacs on a Model 65 and I didn't think they were ever going to fit right. I finally was able to get them on tight and manged to get the gap to disappear. There wasn't really any secret as far as I can tell. The only trick was to make sure they were on all the way first before trying to close em up.
