Well after some debate I picked up a new Ruger Redhawk. I chose it over a S&W 629 Classic. Honestly a lot of it had to do with the Ruger being almost $200 cheaper. It is the blued with a 5.5" bbl.
Anyway, I would like to purchase an extra set of grips. I am trying to decide between the Hogue Mono grip, Pachmayr Gripper Gips or Pachmayr Decelerator grips.

Thanks for the help

Grips should be based on your personal preference, but I have been using Pachmayr Presentation grips on my .44 and .45 Redhawks.

I replaced the factory Ruger grip with a Hogue and It's alot better. At least my middle finger isnt gettin beat up by the bottom of the trigger guard. The Hogue grip puts rubber between that finger and the guard.

Don't forget the Butler Creek rubber grip. It has a little more squared bottom than the Hogue. I happen to have one NIB. Let me know if you're interested.

Ford, Ruger's the best

Good decision to get the Ruger. I like Smith's to, but no other gun can take the punishment Ruger's are built to withstand. I like Hogue personally but the Pachmayr's are nice too.

nobody around here has any Pachmayrs but reviews i have read were not so great. Atleast on the Decelerators and the gripper grips. They most noted that the fit was poor.

The wood grips are not to bad, but I shoot (reloads) .44 spl about 90% of the time for target practice, its a lot cheaper if you reload ?
If you are shooting heavy loads most guys/gals I run into are using the pac's
You might even want to experiment with a glove.

Congratulations on the gun. I just love mine.

I bought some Hogue Mono grips, they are ok. I like the feel of the wood ones better. I like small grips. I think the Pachmayrs are even thicker than the Hogues since they cover the backstrap. I may have to order some online one day and try them.
