Packing it up. Again.

That's a terrible disease that I have too. I'm never going to move, but I am already feeling guilty that my kids have to deal with all my crap someday not so far away......
Don't sweat it, man. They'll go throught the house, take what they want, turn the rest over to an estate sale company, then sell the empty house. Bing bang boom.

It's all fun and games until you start casting and you have to figure out if bulk lead is cost effective to move... good thing I never found a cheap supply. :) I feel Ya I'm moving 1k miles in the next two months....
You’re not kidding! That’s also when you find out how important it is to check the tires on your trailer before you load it.
Yup. Been there, done that. And it was raining.

65 this year a d spent the last 10 or so years building my house. This will be my last stop until I find my self in a pine box LOL. I also have that gotta save everything disease unfortunately. It has however saved my bacon several times in the past. Have a pickup body trailer full of wheel weights out back that probably will never move again without breaking too.

Moving should be easier this time. The safe will be interesting again, but other stuff not as much. Now that I deliver car parts for a living I have my own personally owned moving truck (retired 14ft 1ton dually uhaul) and van (extended length Chevy express aka kidnapper special) I have the equipment at hand without having to rent beg steal or borrow. I also have a 30x60 warehouse (where I store the trucks generally) I can use part of to stage the heavy and hard to move stuff like toolbox and reloading supplies. Since I’m moving less than an hour away I should be able to make about 3 trips a day back and forth. With a couple decent box dollies it should be as smooth of a move as possible. I need to go buy those box dollies.

Well, with great frustration, and anger, I must report that the deal fell through on selling my house, which was part of a domino effect of other things falling through before and with contingencies being as they are, I ended up out of luck on the incredible shop. Still moving, but back to square one on house hunting AND house selling. I hate this crap.

Bummer! Sorry man. I know the struggle. :(

I don’t envy you, last time I moved, we did the house in a day and it took me 6 months to move (go through) my stuff. Doesn’t matter how big your shop is, you can still fill it up if your not careful. It’s a continuous job for me but I save just about everything I might be able to use someday.
Yup, that’s me in a nutshell.

My last few moves required two moving vans, one for the household goods and one for the shop. Fortunately the company was paying the bill.

But, we had a neighbor in Atlanta that had an 80,000 pound move. He had a full machine shop in his basement. Note, the basement did have a ground level entrance.

Anyway, for the OP, it is good to get house with space for your activities. Heed jmorris’ advice.

As I sit back and read of your trials I am reminded that every little thing happens for a reason. You might not see it today or tomorrow but one day you will say "Wow good thing I didn't..........". Then you will realize several doors opened when that one closed
Sorry things didn't work out for you this time.
