well I found a palma rifle for sale and broke down and went ahead and bought it. It has been like since 1989 for 90 since I have actually had my own official palma rifle.
So I guess its off to practice long range more and more. was planning on spending many days down at the nra whittington center anyway.

the rifle has a mcmillan prone stock with adjustible check piece, adjustible buttpad, anshutz guide rail in the urban camo pattern.
also has PNW rear sight and sinclair front ladder 22mm front. both with anshutz adjustible diaptors. also has a nice jewel trigger and I am not sure who's sight base but it is very nice and a combination type that allows for the PNW sight to be put on the side and also take it off as it has a full rail for a scope.

the barrel is a NEW kreiger medium palma weight 30" and the action is a remington 40X solid base action.

and get this I bought it from a pawn shop. they have 3 more match rifles but I bought the nicest one. might just go back in a few weeks and see about a few of the others.

one was another remington 40x solid base reciever but with a 26" barrel and non adjustible match prone stock without sights. one was a winchester pre model 70 xtc rifle with the old redfield international sights on it. it was in 30-06 with the stripper clip guide cut. the last one was a remington model 700 in a ISU stock with a leapold 6.5x20x50 lr scope.

the problem with the rest of them is I really do not want them but just parts off of them. would love the other 40x and would of bought it if it had the scope on it.

thats some funny stuff !!!!!!!! I had forgotten all about that but with my advanced age maybe I should keep a eye open on graigslist.

If I start shooting long range I guess I should shed my good guy image and turn into a jerk and be even more self centered. I know just the person to model myself after. you know who I am talking about (LOL).

The only down side is now I will have to feed two monsters. oh well I need to order some bergers anyway and a call to lapua is in order. dies and throat gages and a few other items will be coming soon also. dang this is not a cheap sport. trying to find federal 210m primers is going to be fun?

Kind of like this?

If you're having trouble finding Fed 210M primers, I would suggest you look for the match-quality Wolf primers.

the sights were the same and rifle also but the stock was a composite.
already found 1k of the fed 210m. traded a friend 1k of the remington 7 1/2 br for the fed 210m. I have varget and some winchester new brass plus found a box of berger 155.5's also.
going to order some more bergers and lapua brass in a few weeks. just going to send off for the dies tomorrow. going to get the redding full length S type dies with two bushings, one for the lapua brass and one for the winchester brass. then a forster competition seating die with the micrometer top. also a throat length gage.

just ordered the reloading items. forster ultra seater, redding type s full length sizing die, redding titanium nitrite bushing, redding carbide button kit for s dies, sinclair seating depth gage.
so off to the range in a week or so.

I've noticed that more than a few Winchester target M70s in .308 have been selling on GunBroker lately. Don't know if all of the palma rifle shooters are cashing in their chips or they just found something better to shoot.

I can't imagine it's the latter.
