I saw this gun on consignment at the local mom and pop gun shop for $680.

I immediately liked it because it had been through para's custom shop and
it looked like it meant business.

It's a double stack stainless 1911 single action in .40 S&W with compettion trigger, high profile sights with a red front ramp, full length guide rod, wrap around grips extended beavertail, commander hammer etc...

It came with 5 16 round magazines and 3 neutered.

When I first shot it at 15 yards I made one 16 round ragged hole without trying.

This gun is amazing. It has about a 2.5 Lb trigger pull which took a little getting used to. Recoil is negligable and target recovery time is extremely quick.

I was worried having read some negative stuff on THR about para but this P16 is one of the best autos I've ever owned.

I love mine. It's built like a tank, which I like. It's currently at EGW for a trigger job, new trigger (the stock plastic one is the only think I really didn't like about this gun) a magwell and some other nifty doodads.

5 mags? And that price? Come over here so I can get rid of your body... :D

One I saw at a recent show had 5 mags and they wanted $999 or so for it, since mags are still running $45 each for true Para mags, geez. Even then, it was too much.

Hope to find one at the show in 3 weeks. Either .40 or 9mm.

My local shop has a P16.40 that I'm thinking about. It's new and priced at $650. Probably has 10 round mags, but standard caps are getting more and more available. I'm not particularly fond of the .40, but I'm thinking of buying this one and buying a 10mm barrel to convert it over to 10mm. 'bout the only turnoff is the possibility that the new barrel will need fitting or that the gun may need a timing adjustment for everything to work properly. Hunter Custom has done many, many of these conversions, so it would not seem to be a problem.

I have one like yours (all the goodies) plus it is in matt hard chrome. I love it! VERY accurate and 100% reliable. Great gun.

I also purchased an Ed Brown barrel in .357 SIG and fitted it. Same deal. VERY accurate and 100% reliable. Makes a very versatile gun indeed.

Enjoy yours.

MecGar makes $20 high cap mags too. The factory ones are a bit over priced because there still aren't that many around.

Good deal!

Plus the P16.40s make excellent 10mm conversions ... just swap barrels and take the plastic spacer out of the mags.

Cool! Do I just order a barrel from para?

I was at the gunshow this weekend and mec magazines were $35 and para
mags were $50 :what:
