G'day Guys
Can I have some advice on Parkerizing with-out full disassembly?
My worn blued Mauser rusts quick in our wet New Zealand bush on a hunt.
I'm looking to get it Parkerized and have had a good rate offered...but I've just recently "permanently" Loctite-ed the Scope Mount to the Action and it just doesn't want to come off...
Should I / Can I get it parkerized with the Mount still in place and I'll get a great result...ie: the mount "sealed" to the receiver..just like the barrel to receiver "joint"
or will the acid etch into the gap and leave me with an untreated section that will cause problems (ie: rust or loosen-up) down the track?
Would the acid etch / Parkerize process cause the Loctite to release anyway?
Cheers
Paul
