Hi Fellas,
Im no gunsmith which will become apparent in this post. Just wondered what the parts compatibility is like between the 357 mag and 44 mag in Rossi 1892 lever actions.

Reason I ask is I am selling off 2 Rossi levergun 357's( and all components and ammo) to upgrade to 44 mag. On a tight budget and tight for space as well, so the old stuff is getting traded in.

However... in these uncertain supply times I did wonder if it might be useful to keep the uglier beater 357 of the two just as 'spares support for the a 44' ? Some obvious stuff doesnt carry over( barrel, mag tube, etc) but what about all the internals.

I dont even know if this could be an issue, but as I use the guns high volume, if Braztech or whoeever it is ever stops sending parts , would the above idea have merit.

Thanks if the tech aspects of the question can be addressed if anyone has the knowledge. Not after general gun ownership advice so much, and the 357's wont be shot with again.

Without having both rifles in front of me, I will have to wing it a little. Fire control parts ( hammer, trigger, sear and springs) should interchange, as should the buttstock and lower tang. Lever and locking blocks should be the same. Anything that touches the cartridge will be caliber specific. All pins and screws should be universal.
