I have a Russian Mak with what I beleive to be a broken trigger bar. Currently its at a gunsmith that is beyond incompetant and I'm picking it up tomarrow, but thats another story.:fire:

I havn't seen the pistol in almost 3 months thanks to the gunsmith, but if I remember correctly it looked like the trigger bar was broke. So screw them I'm going to fix it myself.:D I found the AGI course, but I havn't ordered it yet. Has anyone completly taken apart a Mak? Do I need any special tools? When I buy parts do I have to make sure they are Russian or are they somewhat interchangable?

My game plan is simple, first I need to extract it from the gunsmith, than I plan on ordering the AGI DVD, taking it apart and finding the parts. Any help or advice will be appreciated.

1. Go to Makarov.com, find schematic (also a link to the makarov forum on gunboards can be found there).
2. Go to gunbroker.com and search for the mak parts you need.
3. Fix it yourself.

There are probably free videos on youtube showing to to completely strip a mak, there certainly is for every other make of gun.

E gunparts.com
numrichs, same thing, they have most of these gun
also try buymilsup.com

or find the schematic and type the part name in google like this:
Makarov x____ part

It's not hard to disassemble. To free the transfer bar you'll have to push out a pin. There's a hole in the frame halfway between the trigger and barrel which will let you access it with the trigger pulled IIRC.
Luck
