I got done with a conference early today, so I stopped by my LGS to say howdy and look around.
The store is a real mom and pop, and I'll be honest it seems to be slowly dying on the vine. Most long guns were consignments, with a few new semi auto rifles sprinkled in. The owner said things are slow, and I felt it just by his demeanor.
The owner had a bunch of newly consigned guns, some Beretta 92f's, two broomhandle Mausers (one with a stock) and other sundry semis.
I like big bore revolvers, and almost always buy good S&Ws when they are out on display. Not this time... for the first time in a long time! I must be reaching saturation, or getting to the point where I will just be filling the few remaining holes in the old "I have always wanted one of those" part of my psyche.
I walked away from the following that were decently priced and well maintained (with no hesitation or regrets) : a 6" pre lock S&W Model 27 that looked very, very clean, a nearly new 3" S&W 640 in .357, and a huge S&W.460 x-frame with the loooong barrel. He also had a spotless set of .44 and .454 Super Redhawks, a .41 Redhawk hunter, and a massive BFR in .45/70 (THAT was a cannon!)
These were all from one seller who clearly has the same revolver bug I do. It was really nice stuff, but nothing that leapt out at me... this time.
