Check out the SAVAGE line of rifles for a good price on a new gun. The trigger cannot be beat, the accuracy is superb and the cost is very fair. My Savage shoots better that my Winchester, Sig Sauer or Remington all of which are in 30.06 caliber.

I would definitely pass... Nothing wrong with that gun... the scope is a joke and the price is too high for what you are getting... You can pay slightly more than that and get a good Savage, Marlin, Steven's, or even a TC Venture if you look for it (One used/unfired in 300 win mag at a friends shop for $435.) I recommend you keep looking... there are much better deals to be had out there... Hell, in the same shop my friend has a Win. Model 70 in 7mm mag for roughly 350 with a Simmons Aetec on it.

I think that is about what that gun goes for new. I'd go to the shop with 200 cash on the counter and see if he'll bite. Otherwise I would keep looking.

The Stevens 200 is on sale at academy right now for 179.00. It's a better rifle IMO and you'll have money left over for a decent scope.

For 389.00 you can do better. The Savage 200 is a perfect example. Put a new Redfield scope on one of those & you'll be better off.

I'd talk them down to $250 and see if they will bite that rifle minus scope sells for $249 at WalMart...or it did when I bought mine. They are pretty accurate for a bargin rifle though. I put a Centerpoint 4-16x40mm scope on it with Weaver steel rings.

Too much for that gun.
Absolutely true about few deals to be had a pawn shops, though I have found one exception. The following were all purchased at the same pawn shop over the last 2-3 years.

95% S&W 686+ 6" $429
LNIB Glock 19 3rd Gen $325
Exc Cond. Winchester 1300 $200
2nd Gen Glock 24C $379
Dan Wesson Pointman Minor $275
Maverick 88 12ga $90

There are better deal around there. I would second looking at Savage. They are a really good bargain rifle brand, that while they don't have all the fancy refinements in the stocks and so on, will give you excellent accuracy and action.

Still doesn't compare to the pawn store selling their "brand new" Mosin Nagant 91/30 with expert Bushnell brand scout scope that was mounted with one of those rear sight mounts on there for the bargain price of $585.

Just got back from a gun show on sat. damn were you guys right!!!
I bought a savage model 110 with a synthetic stock and 3x9 tasco scope. the scope is in poor shape and will be replaced. The rifling on the barrel looks brand new and the savage name on the bolt is brand new lookin as well. Im so excited about this rifle for deer season and maybe a black bear :D:D:D

Grand total: $260

There is the collection
Marlin .30-30
Savage 110 .30-06
Mossberg 20 ga
Western Field .22 cal

Not picture Winchester x-150 .50cal Muzzleloader
