In my situation I need a semi auto but cant get a .223 due to price I was wondering if a .40 S&W would do the job I am shooting from about 75 yards at a running coyote so I need a semi auto just incase I miss I have heard a .22 will do it but it seems like it couldn't kill them from that range I was looking at a pc4 or pc9 they are pretty cheep were I can get them 300-400 and I think it would do the job. Recoil is no problem because it’s a rifle. Also tips on getting the coyotes would be a big help.

.22 Mag would be my choice. Dunno about the semi-auto. If maybe you could get one in something like a 10/22 it would work great.

About any centerfire would kill a coyote at 75 yards if you could hit 'em. Hitting a running coyote would be rather challenging.

they stop though and slow down usually there running away so i would be getting them from behind there decent sized so hitting them isnt reely a problem they will get as close as 10 yards though.

12GA AUTO OR PUMP IS YOUR BEST BET. HEVISHOT MAKES THE DEAD COYOTE LOADS BUT SOME #1, #2 BUCK WORKS GREAT.

i have been using a shotgun but somtimes they will be well out of my shotguns range and i want to get those shots

I have used a Hi-Point 9mm carbine on 'yotes before. It worked very well. Think about it, if a 9mm can kill a human(about four times a coyotes weight), it will drop a yote.
