Thinking these are interesting today. I do want a PCC in 9mm just as a range practice toy. I have several Rugers in other flavors, and for whatever reason the Ruger carbine doesn't sit well, a plastic gun that kind of looks like a classic rifle, but you can't get a wood stock for it ... meh

The TNW PCC is interestsing, can get multiple barrels for it, and shoot other cartrdiges as well, but any good as a range toy? I fired one of the little Keltec Sub-2000s a couple times, and they are neat, but for me at 6'6" not really that fun to just shoot for fun to me.

Do people like shooting this Aero SR for fun, or is it more of a utiliarian tool?

Is there an open sight option on this thing? Found the manual online, mentions not about any open sights.

You could throw on some flip up backup sights and deal with the rather short sight radius. Unfortunately for us iron sight fans much like they are now left off of nearly all bolt action hunting rifles, iron sights seem to be a thing of the past on tactical rifles now too, with the assumption that everyone will throw on an optic of some sort. Pistols may be going that way too.

Kinda sucks IMHO - I can throw on a pair of iron sights that I trust to work for $30 or less. All optics in that price range are trash level.

I’ve had one in 10mm since they first came out.
If you want iron sights, this isn’t what you want.
It’s a great PCC, very modular, I can switch from 10 mm to .357sig or .40s&w with just a barrel change. And the barrel just threads in by hand.
You can swap the lower to switch to small frame Glock mags although .40 feeds from 10mm mags just fine.
Takes a standard AR grip & stock.
My biggest complaint is the trigger, it’s proprietary, and not great. TNW does sell a two stage upgrade but I haven’t heard anyone say it’s worth it.

hmm... kind of like open sights, while I can still kind of see. so, for a carbine weigh me some advantages of 9mm vs. 10mm or other.

I know nothing about this gun..

Are barrels, kits etc actually o the open market or is it a manufacturer "promise".l? Like so many multi-caliper offerings that never came to fruition.

I briefly looked in to both the TNW and the JRC several years ago.

Going from memory...
Both of them had the barrel kits available to buy and out in the market. I dont remember if all calibers were in stock to sell at the time but I do remember seeing posts on forums of users that had all the caliber kits.

I think I was leaning towards the JRC but I don't remember why and that both had some minor-ish pros and cons when compared to each other.

I ultimately got neither. I wanted a 9mm PCC and really like the idea of modular PCC caliber swaps but I'm not really into pistol griped rifles and I wasn't wanting to start stocking up on ammo and mags for the various calibers.

I dragged my feet long enough that Ruger came out with their PCC and very happily bought that as it was what I really wanted - a non pistol griped PCC.

Ahhh..., the Ruger PCC 9mm wasn't out yet so that tells you how long ago it was when I was looking at the TNW & JRC.

I think it is there, two receivers - one for the 9mm size cartrdiges and one for .45, so - each receiver will swap the barrel, bolt, and mag - and you're running a different cartrdige, but - it is limited to the two receivers. That's what I think, but I also am just looking at this - and well - multiple cartrdidge rifles are interesting.

FWIW TNW barrels, lowers & other parts have been available for years. I put a .357sig barrel in the cart a few times but never went thru with it, but it was in stock. They’re good about stocking all the little stuff like pins and clips as well.
Before my 10mm ASR I had a JRC .45 carbine, never ran right. I did all the mag mods to factory Glock mags including buying their springs but the mag angle is wrong, rounds feed too high and .45 ball ammo would occasionally catch on the upper edge of the chamber and stop, forcing the bullet into the case enough to ruin that round. It was well made, just wasn’t very reliable.
I also just picked up a Ruger PCC Charger, it’s great, runs right, accurate, great trigger. But you won’t get one in .45 or 10mm.
