Pedersoli Philadelphia Derringer?

I worked with one about ten years ago.
Fun little gun, but you'd be an absolute fool to carry one for self defense.

Thanks gang, since I learned how weak these are I don't think I'll be carrying it. I was under the impression it would be a strong as a short barreled Colt Army or something. Guess not.

I am, however, still interested in them. They look fun. I wonder how accurate they are considering they have both front and rear sights?

No, and a very poor choice for any type of serious carry use.
I don't recall the specific accuracy of the thing, but it wasn't good enough to impress me sufficiently to remember.

It was one of a handful of BP derringer-types I tried, none of which were all that impressive in either accuracy or power, although that Philly Derringer was at the top of the bunch in power.

Still totally impractical in the face of so many better defensive choices in about the same size & bulk.

It's a fun toy, but today that's ALL it is.

You can't complain about a Pedersoli barrel and a lot of people consider them some of the best and strongest built today. A lot of American longrifle traditionalists will vehemently disagree of course. The Pedersoli barrels I have owned I have found to be exceptionally accurate but after extensive trail and error at the range. They're real picky about the load they like, real picky. Try it, it is a good looking piece.
