People Overestimate Buckshot

It seems like a lot of people go with #00 buckshot just because everyone else does and it's arguably the most well known. I've decided to use #0 buckshot because all the tests I've seen show that it has enough penetration and I would rather have twelve .32 caliber pellets then nine .33 caliber pellets.

Well, then you will be happy to know that you can have 12 00 buck rather than 12 0 buck.

Now your argument is moot.

What is that, 2 3/4" magnum shells or something? Regardless I'll just switch to #1 buck and now it's 16 pellets, so not really. Use whatever you want, but like Brass Fetcher said and every other test I've ever seen concluded, #1 buck is more effective. I would much, much rather have 16 .30 caliber pellets than 9(or even 12..) .33 caliber pellets. I might even bump it up to 3" shells, which would be 21 .30 caliber pellets that each weigh more then .22lr bullets. I don't know about you, but I would say that twenty one .22lr bullets hitting at the same time should stop anyone other then the Hulk on meth.

Did you mean than?

The way you've written it seems to be saying that you would be mixing your loads- first a shell of 0 buck, then a shell of 00.

Not sure what the topic is here.

Do you really wanna play the grammar nazi game? I was half asleep; excuse me for not being 100% accurate at 7am on a forum ...
