If you know it's a mental health problem, then why only target gun owners? Why not insist that mental health checks and treatment be mandatory for every single person in the country? Then you can leave gun ownership out of it and fix the homeless crisis for us all.

Really, 2-4 million plus hours at $350-500 per hour? And all the bureaucrats needed to dispense those funds? That's getting near to a billion dollars. And would still require more MD psychiatrists than exist in the US now.

I wasn't trolling. I meant what I said about statistics. Every firearms owner who has a gun needs a mental health evaluation twice a year as long as he holds that firearm for public safety. It is not insulting to the firearms owners but justified.
