Pets named after guns?

My first dog was named Boomer. I don't really know why we named him that. sorta gun related though. now i have a Buddy. (I know, how original (He is such a buddy though! it fits!))

It wouldn't work out to well to name him CZ 75B. but we do have a couple of Savage rifles. that's not a bad name. I do have a friend who named his rottwieler Glock.

I had a dog I named after my varmint rifle, "Smith & Wesson M&P 15 PC." But one day I was trying to call him out of traffic and just got to the "Wesson" before he got hit.

In Feb. or March of 92 my wife and I went to get a stray dog from the puppy jail and give it a new lease on life. Well about 3 weeks ago we had to put him down because he couldn't stand on his own anymore. His name was Molson.

My boxer is named Sonny, after Sonny Liston (another famous boxer).

I've got a shepherd mix named Kimber.

Turns out that was oddly prophetic--the dog doesn't always behave, and the gun doesn't always function.

I had a cat named Mauser. The thing became extremely aggressive, so I put him outside permanently. When he started getting back in the house by tearing through the screen and then attacking the other cat, he met his fate on the business end of a Hi-Standard.

Mikhail Kalishnikov.Seriously. He answers to it, as well, wonderful cat. None of the other animals have firearm related names, and no, NONE of them are named CZ. :)

Not a firearm in the strictest sense, but my German shepherd's name is Panzer. I just thought it was funny at first. Then I was walking him on leash one day and the first rabbit he'd ever seen darted about 5 feet in front of him. A snapped heavy duty D-ring made me realize that sometimes the name picks the pet.
Of course, there are plenty of people that have no idea what it means and think we named him Panzy...

Only one boxer? they are like lays potato chips you can't stop with just one
I wanted to get two but She Who Must Be Obeyed wanted to be the primary playmate.

She grew up with them. I never knew anything about the breed until now; they really are special!

Sounds like you're a boxer fan as well; I knew I like you!

Our mutts are pound pooches w/ names already attached. I have had a cat named Enzo (for the Ferrari patriarch), so naming a beasty after a favorite pastime wouldn't be out of the question. If my wife pines for a cat, maybe I'll get a Russian Blue and name it Sergei Ivanovich (Mosin) ...

How funny is that! I've got a cat named Enzo too! And a big Lab named Ruger - which the vet techs mispronounce all the time and call him "Rugger".

Mine is named Elsie.

The shotgun guys will know what I am talking about.

I thought it was the perfect blend of a gun name and subtlety.

NONE of them are named CZ.

You could name one Ceska....

Old friend of mine called his little wooly white dog Bore Swab, didn't hurt he was retired Navy.
