... and the Tactical Reload.

I carried a 1911 (full size or Commander models) with at least 2 spare mag's for 20+ years before being forced by Dept. policy to carry the issued M&P's for the remaining 13 years. (both on and off duty). I have seen very good shooters actually / accidentally throw their reload mag straight at the target while under stress (motor skills do strange things when adrenaline kicks in), so I always carry at least 2 spares. The extra mag's also help to balance the weight of the pistol. I had a leather "sleeve" (made of leather" to hold 2 1911 mag's perfectly fit to my "off side" rear pocket) that works well if you don't like carrying a belt carrier. The main thing I advocate is "PRACTICE" often to perform mag changes, too often overlooked training point. Good luck.

My EDC, a PPS M2, is loaded with a 7 round mag and one in the tube. I carry two additional 7 round magazines. I carried a M1911 in the Corps, and I became accustomed to that ammo capacity. But I also practice swapping out magazines fast to make up for the fact that I do not have 10 to 15 rounds in my pistol.
